Zitech Electronics has announced the exclusive distribution rights to a new type of computer that the company claims bridges the gap between desktops and notebooks.
Weighing 1kg and measuring 157mm x 146mm x 45mm (length x width x height), the Avilon EZ-GO computer provides a portable and low-cost alternative to notebooks, according to Zitech managing director John Trajanovski.
The device is available in a range of configurations including Intel chipsets from 766MHz-1GHz, 64-256 MB of RAM and varying hard drive sizes.
For many notebooks, the only portability requirement is between the office and the home. It would be more economical and convenient, says Trajanovski, to buy an additional monitor, keyboard and mouse and simply carry the EZ-GO home. The EZ-GO computer can also be used to play DVD and MP3 files, and a CD burner version will be available in December.
