Telstra and Navman Wireless extend GPS tracking partnership

Long-time partners to offer GPS vehicle tracking solution on 36-month contracts.

Telstra will now be able to offer Navman Wireless GPS fleet management solutions for business customers interested in keeping track of multiple work vehicles.

The pair have been long-time partners but this is the first time Telstra has offered this type of fleet product to customers.

Navman Wireless’ GPS fleet management system uses small tracking devices in vehicles to transmit data through the Telstra network. Business owners for managers can gleam over everything from location, speed and unauthorised usage of any vehicles in their fleet.

“This exciting new offering provides our customers with the added flexibility of receiving a turnkey vehicle tracking solution inclusive of hardware, software-as-a-service and carriage – with a single monthly payment on the Telstra bill,” Telstra director of M2M and partners, Mike Cihra, said in a statement.

The Navman Wireless tracking, messaging and navigation products are available to Telstra customers on a 36-month contract.

While this technology has traditionally been used in the transport sector, the services industry is now increasingly adopting vehicle tracking solutions. Navman Wireless is looking to expand its market reach through this extended Telstra partnership.

“This partnership brings together Australia’s leading telecommunications and fleet management companies,” Navman wireless Asia-Pacific vice-president, Ian Daniel, said in a statement. “We have seen an explosion in local demand for fleet management solutions and are excited about working with Telstra to make our products easily available to more Australian businesses.”
