Former employees of Tech Pacific dominate the new Ingram Micro management team, announced by managing director Kerry Baillie. Of the seven positions reporting directly to him, five are members of his Tech Pac staff.
John Walters has been appointed as director of commercial sales, Geoff Kinghorn takes the director of finance role and Raquel Casswell is the senior HR manager. Mark Franklin is the new general manager of Ingram's communications division, while Marlene Gant is general manager of retail.
As previously reported in ARN, former Ingram boss, Steve Rust, has been appointed director of operations.
One position on the senior management team is still up for grabs as Tech Pac's IT director, Ramesh Nair, has been promoted to take up a similar role for Ingram Asia-Pacific.
As far as product managers are concerned, Baillie said the preferences of each vendor would be given some weight in the appointment where both Ingram and Tech Pac had previously held the same account.
Ingram's sales director before the merger, Paul Scanlon, will be charged with setting up a new sales channel centred on the TechLink website. Baillie said the new division would look to compete with Express Online.
Commercial sales director, John Walters, will be responsible for appointing state managers across Australia. They were also likely to be former Tech Pac employees, Baillie said, because the existing Ingram structure did not include state managers.
