KAZ Computer Services is in the final stages of negotiating a three-year contract with the Credit Union Services Corporation (CUSCAL), to provide a streamlined image-based solution for processing cheques in over 160 credit unions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ausdata, a 100 per cent-owned KAZ subsidiary, will provide CUSCAL with outsourced digital-imaging capture for approximately 30 million cheques per annum in processing centres around Australia.
Meanwhile, KAZ will provide outsourced services for the IT infrastructure required to run the imaging system by delivering operations support and ongoing technical support within one of its six data centres.
In order to meet CUSCAL's processing deadlines, the project will see Ausdata establish processing centres in the KAZ offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, thereby giving Ausdata a national presence for bureau services.
KAZ managing director Peter Kazacos said the contract demonstrates the strength of KAZ as a single service provider. "[It] brings together all three arms of the business."
The solution will be extended to incorporate other areas of the CUSCAL transaction business such as credit card services.
