Dimension Data opens global service centre in NSW

Macquarie Park centre will provide 24x7 technical support

Specialist ICT services and solutions provider, Dimension Data Australia, has officially opened a new global service centre at Macquarie Park.

The NSW Department of Trade and Investment worked with Dimension Data to help secure the $107 million investment for Sydney.

In opening the centre, Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner, said, “Dimension Data’s ongoing investment in the new global services centre at Macquarie Park is a vote of confidence in NSW as a business location.

“This facility has been built to provide 24-hour, seven day a week technical support for companies spanning a range of sectors, including financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, government and education. ”

Dimension Data employs more than 1600 people in Australia, with over 550 staff based in NSW.

The centre currently employs 130 people but the company expects it ro employ more than 300 people over the next five years.

Dimension Data Australia CEO, Rodd Cunico, said employment in the global service centre had grown since it first began operating in February, providing career opportunities for prospective employees looking to enter the local IT sector.

“We have also been able to both win and retain major national and NSW-based managed services and outsourcing clients, with the local support we are able to provide from our new North Ryde operational base,” Cunico said.
