GoodReader for iPad
Cost: $5.49 | Developer: Good.iWare Ltd. | Platform: iPad | Version: 3.8.0 | 13.9MB |
Having already made a name for itself as the premier PDF reader for the iPhone, GoodReader has enabled the reading of PDFs on the iPad as well.
While the app can also read TXT files, the main feature of GoodReader is the ability to open PDF files, which includes the function to mark-up documents with text boxes, notes, and freehand drawings.
Files can be easily uploaded to your iPad from your computer using the USB cable or WiFi connection, and files can be synched remotely via services such as iDisk and Dropbox.
Once the files are on the iPad, they can be moved, copied and renamed within GoodReader, and they can also be zipped, unzipped and emailed for easy sharing.
If that all isn’t enough, Microsoft Office files such as .doc, .ppt. and .xls are also supported.
Pros: A multi-purpose file viewing app that supports PDFs.
Cons: The iPad version of GoodReader is a separate app and does not support iPhone, and vice versa.
Verdict: GoodReader is an essential app for anyone who regularly uses PDFs and needs access to them while on the move.
