Acer Computer Australia has unveiled its latest 7-inch tablet built on Android Honeycomb 3.2, the Acer Iconia Tab A100.
The tablet is encased in a blue cover embellished with a sleek pattern. It weighs only 410g and is powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. According to the company, the Iconia Tab A100 provides the same performance as the Iconia A500 Tab.
Boasting a 16:10 aspect ratio full touch screen, the tablet also supports movies, books and Flash 10.3. Users can play premium arcade games, complex online 3D games and watch movies on a big screen TV in full HD using its 1080p video playback and HDMI out. The tablet is also equipped with Dolby Mobile Technology and includes multiple connectivity options.
Its other features include: Wi-Fi capabilities, 5MP auto-focus rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, dual speakers, Bluetooth 2.1 (upgradable to 3.0) and a Micro USB 2.0 client port.
Users can access thousands of apps from the Android Marketplace and Android 3.2 now fully supports Micro SD cards accessed from a PC via USB connection. It also includes an Acer Day Planner – enabling users to check what’s next on the agenda, emails, the latest news and weather forecasts.
Acer has partnered with Dymocks and The In Song, to provide a range of content solutions on the Iconia Tab A100. Through Acer’s e-Gift Voucher redemption program, consumers can enjoy a variety of e-books and music downloads, equivalent to a total of $100.
The Acer Iconia Tab A100 comes in two models – 8GB and 16GB but, only the 8GB model will be available in Australia.
It is available from all national retailers and distributors Bluechip Infotech, Ingram Micro and Synnex. Recommended retail price is $479.
