"The advantage of Fast PDF is, as the name suggests, it loads pages super fast"

Fast PDF
Cost: $US2.99 | Developer: MobFarm srl | Platform: iPhone/ iPod Touch/iPad | Version 2.0.2 | 17.7MB | iOS

From magazines to medical journals, a lot of written media online is distributed in the form of Portable Document (PDF) format files.

Created by software vendor, Adobe, this open standard format has become a popular way for people and companies to disseminate fixed-layout digital documents.

That is why Fast PDF may just become your best friend.

Designed for the iOS, the app organises PDF documents neatly using a virtual bookshelf. Files sit nicely on the shelf with its cover – or thumbnail of the first page – facing the user. This makes the files easily identifiable.

PDFs can be viewed in portrait or landscape mode. For those with an iPad, they can even view two pages side by side, just like a book. This is great for viewing magazines and newspapers.

Standard iPhone/iPad function zooming in by pinching or double tapping the screen can be used.

The advantage of Fast PDF is, as the name suggests, it loads pages super fast. It can open files from other applications, such as Mail, as well, which adds to its convenience. Users can also share documents as email attachments.

Pros: Great presentation, fast loading times, easy navigation

Cons: At $US2.99 and with limited features, the app is kind of pricey

Verdict: For those that live and breathe PDF documents.
