Product news: Trend Micro announces Titanium V5

Also introduces Mobile Security for Android

Internet security vendor, Trend Micro, has introduced a range of tools providing maximum security called the Titanium V5.

It uses cloud technology to stop viruses, spyware and other threats before they reach a computer. It is designed to protect consumers against all malicious threats, no matter how they are delivered, where they try to hide, or what connected device is in use – a laptop, smart phone, tablet or fully-loaded gaming PC.

The range is powered by its Smart Protection Network infrastructure and uses less than half the disk space and memory of other security products, while offering protection and stopping threats from reaching the consumer, the vendor said.

Features include a tool that eliminates programs posing as antivirus software (Fake AV), proactive botnet and PE Virus protection, protection against malware packer technology and a tool that visually recognises safe and malicious links on social networking sites.

The company also launched its Mobile Security Personal Edition for Android, which protects the devices from loss, malicious apps and web threats.

It includes an app scanner, surf, call and text security and lost device protection. Titanium V5 is available in three packages – Trend Micro Smart Surfing for PC, Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security and Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security.

Prices for the range start from $59.95 and the Mobile Security Personal Edition is available for $49.99 on a two-year plan.
