Acer Computer Australia has targeted a five-day turn-around time for building servers for its reseller customers.
The company plans to achieve its strategy to reach customers within the five-day turn-around – from the initial forecasted purchase order to assembly and readiness for dispatch – through its local assembly operations and online order management system. Acer can do this because - unlike its competitors who have overseas assembly operations - it is able to offer built-to-order Acer servers.
The use of Acer Australia’s online order management system, enables customers to ‘build their own server” and customise it to meet their configuration needs.
The system that is combined with real time stock availability, order status, shipment reports and invoicing, will provide resellers with more visibility in receiving their Acer server.
The company also released the Acer AT350 F1, a dual socket 4U rack mountable tower server optimised for SMBs. It comes with the latest Intel Xeon processors, DDR3 memory for high-speed, memory-intensive and multi-threaded operations.
Its other features include: 1+1 redundant Gold-level PSUs and redundant and hot-pluggable system fans, PCIe 2.0 expansion slots,up to 18 DIMM slots with Mirroring and Lock-step modes, a built-in 6-channel SATA HDD controller and Intel Trusted Execution Technology.
