Ingram Micro has picked up another distribution scalp, this time securing the national distribution rights to Dutch manufacturer Philips' PC peripherals products.
The announcement follows the collapse of previous suppliers CHA in June and Crest Technologies (NSW, SA, VIC) in July. Crest Technologies Pty Ltd is still trading as a wholesaler of electrical components in Victoria.
Under the terms of the agreement, distributor Ingram Micro will supply the channel with Philips' full range of peripherals, including CRT and LCD monitors, multimedia speakers and sound cards.
Ingram joins Tech Pacific, ASI and Synnex as national distributors, as well as BMS Technology in South Australia and Alpha Electronics in Western Australia.
According to Tom Lewis, business unit manager of Philips PC Peripherals, the deal reflects a global agreement between the manufacturer and Ingram.
Meanwhile Roger Bushell, Ingram Micro's director of products, claims the agreement will be supported through additional marketing initiatives.
