Global designer of mobile devices, HTC Corporation, is getting down with Dr. Dre audio experience, Beats Electronics.
As part of the part of the collaboration, the two brands will work towards bringing high performance sound to HTC phones.
HTC will make a strategic investment in Beats Electronics and the business will continue to function autonomously.
The agreement will not affect any other current Beats by Dr. Dre business partnerships – including product launches with artists such as Lady Gaga, Diddy and Justin Bieber as well as businesses such as HP, Monster, Chrysler, New England Sports Ventures and Liverpool FC.
HTC Corporation CEO, Peter Chou, said, “We obsess over every detail of a consumer’s mobile experience and audio is a critical part of that experience. Beats is a sound experience that is much more than headphones.”
The companies aim to reach into the youth and accessories markets globally.
The HTC phones integrated with Beats by Dr. Dre will be made available in the coming months.
Interscope Geffen-A&M Records chairman and Beats by Dr. Dre co-founder, Jimmy Iovine, said, “This represents a critical step in our continued mission to clean up the destruction of audio caused by the digital revolution and re-engineer how sound is delivered so that the consumer feels the music the way that the artist intended.”
