Identity-based security solution provider, Entrust,has appointed Jon Callas as its chief technology officer.
In his new role, Callas will be responsible for determining the course of new technology and innovation – particularly as the company continues to extend solutions for mobile, logical and physical security.
He will report directly to Entrust president and CEO, Bill Conner.
Most recently, Callas served as an operating system security expert with Apple.
Prior to Apple, he co-founded PGP Corporation, which specialises in email and data encryption software.
He spent more than 15 years as CTO and CSO with the company.
Callas previously held leadership positions with corporations such as Wave Systems Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation and Counterpane Internet Security.
He has also authored several Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards – including OpenPGP, DKIM, and ZRTP.
Callas intends to use his experience in mobile security and growing and leading software businesses.
