Telstra recently announced Tracey Gavegan as its latest group managing director of human resources.
Gavegan will report directly to Telstra chief executive officer, David Thodey, and join the company’s senior leadership team in Sydney.
Her role will focus on delivering change by building a strong customer focused culture and developing the staff at Telstra.
“People are the essential ingredient in delivering our long-term strategy to win new customers, improve customer service, simplify the company and build new growth businesses,” Thodey said.
Gavegan has had 25 years of experience in senior human resources roles across a range of industries within A/NZ and Asia.
She joined Telstra in April 2006 and has been acting head of the company’s HR business unit since March 2011. She also served as a human resources executive, where she was in charge of advising the company’s enterprise and government and operations business units.
Before joining Telstra, Tracey was wine and spirits business, Maxxium A/NZ director of human resources, working across Australia and Asia.
Prior to it, she held several lead human resources roles across a variety of business sectors - including pharmaceuticals and consumer goods in blue chip organisations.
