Synnex gets Activision

The deal will see Synnex supply products to more than 4000 outlets nationally

Synnex Australia has struck a deal with gaming outfit, Activision Blizzard, helping to supply products to more than 4000 retailers outlets across the country.

Activision's portfolio includes Call of Duty, the upcoming Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, and Blizzard Entertainment's StarCraft, Diablo, and Warcraft along with World of Warcraft.

“Working with Activision Blizzard will further strengthen our position in the supply chain for gaming products in Australia,” Synnex CEO, Kee Ong, said.

“This partnership demonstrates our capability in retail and consumer markets.”

Synnex also distributes Microsoft's Xbox products and has been building its gaming business during the past few years.

Ong said adding Activision to the line up was a natural progression to expand its business in the consumer gaming market.

"Activision is one of the strongest players in the market. Gaming will be an important factor in terms of delivering content to households," he said.

Activision plans to maintain strategic retail partnerships in-house, with Synnex assisting in the areas of distribution and channel management.

The news follows Synnex becoming an IBM volume distributor.

In May, it revealed it was on track to reach its $1.5 billion target by the end of the year.
