AGIMO creates telco service panel

Fujitsu, Telstra and Transact to sit on the panel

Fujitsu, Telstra and Transact have been selected by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), to form its Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connections Service panel.

The panel will supply access to telecommunications carriage services, including major Internet connections.

The panel has an initial term of three years and may be extended by the Department of Finance and Deregulation for a further two, twelve-month periods.

In a statement, AGIMO said a number of companies may be added to the panel in the near future, as negotiations and contractual arrangements come into place.

AGIMO initially launched an ISP tender in August last year with intentions to cut government telecommunications costs and improve price transparency through bulk purchasing

In June, AGIMO established a whole-of-government panel for telecommunications management.
