PC maker, Acer Australia, has added two new notebooks to its range by introducing the latest Aspire Ethos models.
The 18.4-inch Aspire Ethos 8951G and 15.6-inch Aspire Ethos 5951G was designed to enhance cinematic capabilities and media controls.
The Aspire 5951G delivers a HD 720p experience, while the 8951G boasts a Full HD 1080p output. They both feature Dolby Home Theatre v4 sound systems with five built-in speakers and a subwoofer and an optional Blu-Ray Disc or a DVD optical drive.
They are powered by second generation Intel Core i processors combined with Nvidia GeForce GT 500 series discrete graphics for seamless gaming and HD video playback and are equipped with USB 3.0.
The Aspire Ethos range has a longer battery life than its predecessors of up to 10 hours, utilises a 1.3MP HD webcam with H.264 encoding and built-in Wi-Fi Certified or gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
Its chassis comprises of a sleek black design and a brushed aluminium magnesium hairline cover with backlit Chiclet keyboard.
It also displays a detachable MediaRemote touchpad, which includes Clear.fi music and video launch buttons.
Additional features for the Aspire Ethos range include: VGA, USB 2.0 x 3, Multi-in-1 card reader with SDXC support, headphone/mic/line out ports and eSATA.
Acer Australia senior product manager for consumer notebooks, Chris Osborne, said “The Aspire 8951G is a multimedia magnate with a frameless Full-HD display and dual HDD. The Aspire 5951G is a great alternative for consumers who are looking for something a little smaller.”
The range is available from all major retailers and cost $2,399 for the Aspire 5951G and from $2799 for the Aspire 8951G.
