Macquarie is a business-centric telco offering telephony, broadband and hosting solutions.
Aria has a long-term non-exclusive relationship with Telstra which was particularly successful in the SMB space.
“As we move into SIP telephony, we were looking for at least one more partner with a different product offering than Telstra,” Aria CEO, Rob Pierce, said. “Our operation in Australia is highly focused on customising our phone systems to meet channel and customer needs.
“Macquarie was able to do that from a network perspective to provide tailored solutions from the network right to the handset and that appealed to us.”
With a strong hold on the SMB market, the distributor was keen to look elsewhere for opportunities and the mid-market seemed like an ideal choice.
The partnership involves IP telephony, unified communications products and multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) data and voice services. Both parties will work together to offer customised solutions to each client.
LG Ericsson IP telephony products, distributed by Aria, will be paired with tailored data and voice services supplied by Macquarie. Management tools will be provided by the telco including disaster configuration through an integrated management portal.
Macquarie is bundling Aria’s communications portfolio with its IntelliCentre datacentre and multi-carrier network solutions, the telco’s partner account executive, Nigel Raiss, said in a statement.
With a focus on extensive local engineering support, Aria will be hiring new engineering and product support staff.
