Sony is sticking with its entertainment maxim with the launch of its flagship handheld product, the Clie PEG-NR70VG. Sony first brought the Clie to Australia as a limited release in February, but the new model incorporates a range of new features such as a clamshell design and technology designed to take the handheld beyond the realm of nine-to-five business operation. The NR70VG is the first Palm-based handheld to include a built-in digital camera and also features a personal audio player for MP3 and ATRAC3 file formats and integrated keyboard. Unlike conventional PDAs, the screen rotates so users can use the device to type notes or update files, but users can also use Palm's Graffiti tool as the need requires. The device is powered by a DragonBall Super VZ 66MHz processor and 16MB SDRAM with a Memory Stick slot and Lithium-ion Polymer rechargeable battery. The Clie PEG-NR70VG will retail for $1,349 and is available this month.www.sony.com.au/clie.
