Sony's Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity app launched

Cloud-based, digital music service available for Android platforms in A/NZ

Sony Corporation has launched the Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity app in A/NZ for the Android Market.

The Cloud-based, digital music service enables users to stream music anytime and anywhere from a growing catalogue of over seven million licensed songs from major labels. They include Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, EMI Music, other leading independent labels and major international publishers.

The service can be accessed on Sony Ericsson’s Xperia range (arc, PLAY, X10, X8 and neo) and Android-based third party devices.

It can also be used on a variety of Internet-connected Sony devices such as the 2010 and 2011 models of network-enabled BRAVIA HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Disc Home Theatre systems, the PS3 computer entertainment system, PSP and personal computers including VAIO personal computers.

Omnifone and Gracenote have provided platform services, music identification and discovery technologies for the service.

The app features basic and premium monthly subscription plans, priced at $4.99 and $12.99, respectively.
