Simms nabs Dell printers deal

The deal marks the first foray for Simms into the printer market in Australia

Simms International has inked a distribution deal with Dell to take on a select range of printer products.

As part of the deal, it will distribute 13 single and multi-function monochrome and colour laser Dell printers. It also includes cartridge fulfilment for selected models.

This will be the first step into the printer space for Simms in Australia its managing director, Danny Moore, said.

“Dell has a strong product offering, and with a vacant printer category within our portfolio, we see this as the perfect opportunity to enter this category,” Moore said. “This product range fits across both our corporate and Apple channels, further strengthening our value proposition into these markets.

"Our relationship with Dell has grown. They're aggressively going after some market share and it's a great way for us to commence our relationship with Dell in Australia."

Simms was first appointed as a Dell distribution in New Zealand carrying Vostro desktops and laptops, servers, storage and networking products, as well as peripherals such as projectors and laser printers.

Simms joins Altech in the Dell distribution stable in Australia.

“We are pleased to be able to offer an even better experience for more resellers through logistics efficiencies and benefits associated with having stock and consumables warehoused across both Australia and New Zealand,” Dell A/NZ SMB channel director, Jay Turner, said.
