The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) has established a whole-of-government panel for telecommunications management.
The panel was flagged in a tender request in August 2010 and was officially launched June 14.
Government agencies can seek telecommunications advice from panel members which include Boeing Defence Australia, Bridge IT Engineering, Consultel IT&T, Fujitsu, NEC, Optus and Telstra. They will serve an initial term of three years with two one-year extensions on the table.
This list may grow in the future.
The companies can help agencies with managing mobile phone fleets, look after telco services contract, improving billing and inventory management and telco help desk support.
“The panel will help Australian Government agencies procure services to supplement their internal capabilities,” AGIMO spokesperson, John Sheridan, said on the department’s blog. “This arrangement will also achieve savings and efficiencies through the procurement process and better utilisation of aggregated buying power.”
