The collaboration transpired as Hitachi Data Systems was seeking a software only distributor that concentrates on management and monitoring software.
“We’re very focused in the infrastructure management space from a software perspective and the deal was a very good fit with the rest of the vendor line up," TrackITOnline managing director, Phil Lancaster, said.
The company targets a very broad-based market in a corporate enterprise area and has instigated engagement with local government and some corporate accounts.
It has also commenced talks with a 'few' resellers from predominantly mid-sized enterprises, Lancaster said. The new deal is the first arrangement globally where a software only distributor has been appointed, he claimed.
“There are others who have another distributor with access to the software, but their focus is probably more on storage products,” he added.
As part of the agreement, TrackITOnline will be distributing Hitachi IT solutions – the Operations Analyser and Operations Director.
The Hitachi IT Operations Analyser is an availability and performance monitoring software product for business IT environments and the Operations Director is a systems management software that computerises tasks associated with client-side IT infrastructure lifecycle.
Lancaster said, “We’re very keen to have taken a Tier 1 name with a local presence in our stable of products to improve offering to our partners in the infrastructure management space.”
