SPs take out awards for broadband

The Service Providers' Association (SPAN) announced the winners of its 2004 Telecommunications Achievement Awards during the organisation's annual dinner in Sydney last week.

Hutchison Telecommunications and wireless broadband ISP, Personal Broadband, were honoured for providing leadership in innovation across the telecoms industry. Primus Telecom was also recognised with an award for advancing industry competition by providing wholesale access to its broadband infrastructure services.

The award for leadership in industry growth went to ISPs iiNet and Pacific Internet. Both were recognised for contributions in developing DSL infrastructure and value-added services.
