Wireless services provider, Kore Wireless Group, has acquired Melbourne-based wireless M2M network provider, Mach Communications, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition enables Kore to respond to demands of the expanding global market for M2M solutions.
As part of the acquisition, Mach Communications will transition to Kore Wireless Asia-Pacific. It adds a significant incumbent subscriber base, carrier service options along with a skilled team expanding Kore’s footprint in Asia Pacific.
Earlier this year, Kore announced the commercial delivery of its Global Connect integrated worldwide cellular and satellite capabilities through its global communications service delivery platform, PrismPro. It supports IP-data communications, SMS and low-use ‘short burst data’ satellite network services.
“Working with the Mach team over the past three years, we were very impressed by the common ideals that we both have for servicing global customers,” Kore COO and president, Alex Brisbourne, said.
Kore Asia Pacific vice-president and general manager, Shane Murphy, said many of its customers were demanding broader service and support access.
“We believe that the combined company will address these growth needs far more effectively than any other organisation, including wireless carriers,” Mach said.
