Samsung offers free 3D video in Australia

Video-On-Demand app to enable free content on Smart TVs

Owners of Samsung Smart TVs in Australia can now look forward to free 3D video content thanks to the introduction of a dedicated 3D Video-On-Demand (VOD) service by Samsung Electronics.

The 3D VOD service will be available from June 30 on selected Samsung Smart TVs in Australia via the Explore 3D application available on Samsung Apps.

Existing and new owners of Samsung Smart TVs will be able to access 3D VOD content consisting of movie trailers, music videos, children’s classics, lifestyle videos and documentaries.

“Samsung is committed to delivering the very best in interactive content at the touch of a button,” Samsung Electronics Australia national sales and product marketing manager for audio-visual, Brad Wright, said.

“The launch of this free 3D VOD service adds to the variety of content already available and strengthens our commitment to Australian consumers in delivering the very best immersive entertainment experience.”

About 30 3D clips will be made available at no additional cost during the initial stages of the service launch, with the free content expected to increase up to 100 clips by the end of the year.

The launch of the Australian 3D VOD service follows the successful implementation of the initiative by Samsung in South Korea earlier this year.
