Agreement allows Dimension Data to distribute Quantum Backup, Recovery and Archive Solutions

Sydney, Australia; 21 March, 2005 –– Quantum Corporation, a global leader in storage, has announced the appointment of Dimension Data as a value-added reseller for Australia. The agreement serves to support the increasingly complex environment and high growth levels of data storage.

With offices throughout Australia, Dimension Data will integrate Quantum’s complete line of storage products for backup, recovery and archive, including tape drives, autoloaders, disk-based backup systems, tape libraries and media.

“The appointment of Dimension Data strengthens Quantum’s channel strategy in Australia as we focus on continuing to grow our share of the backup and recovery market, secure in the knowledge that our customers will receive the highest quality support and service,” commented Craig Tamlin, Australia and New Zealand country manager for Quantum. “Dimension Data comes with a proven record of success, and we are confident that together we will expand Quantum’s product reach and increase our market-share in the Australian market.”

The extension of Quantum’s go-to-market channel directly follows the recent acquisition of Certance, a global supplier of tape drives and data protection solutions. As a result of the acquisition, Quantum is the world's largest volume supplier of both tape drives and tape automation.*

“Quantum’s leadership in bringing innovation to the company’s backup, recovery and archive solutions is exactly what our customers now demand. As a consequence of this agreement with Quantum, we are able to extend and consolidate our service and solution offerings in the information management market,” commented Dave D'Aprano, National Solutions and Services Director, Dimension Data Australia

Quantum’s global channel program, Quantum Alliance™, in conjunction with its broad product portfolio will provide significant opportunities for channel partners with a single source of backup, recovery and archive solutions not available anywhere else.

“We’re confident the partnership with Dimension Data in Australia and the recent completion of the Certance acquisition will offer customers of all sizes in Australia an unparalleled range of Quantum backup, recovery and archive solutions,” said Tamlin.
