Tracking app catches crooks

The owner activated the tracking app on their iPhone which led police to arresting two men

Two men have been charged after police from the Cabramatta Local Area Command used a tracking application on a personal computer to assist their investigation.

Police were investigating a theft involving a number of items from a break and enter in a home in Tamarama on May 22.

They were provided with information by the owner who activated a tracking application on their iPhone.

It led police to a location in Canley Vale where they applied a search warrant. Two Apple computers and seven laptops were seized.

A 39-year-old man from Canley Vale, and 45-year-old man from Sefton, were each charged with one count of deal with property suspected proceeds of crime.

They’ve been granted conditional bail and are due to appear in Liverpool Local Court on June 20.
