The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has hired Alan Patterson as its new CEO.
He replaces Bruce Lakin, who announced his departure in December.
Patterson’s resume features not-for-profit, healthcare, accreditation and training organisations. He was previously the CEO of National Association of Testing Authorities, served as the managing director of Pearl Healthcare and was the international marketing manager of GC Corporation.
In a statement ACS president, Anthony Wong, said Patterson’s experience in working with governments, combined with his background in accreditation and professional development, would benefit the society and its members.
“Alan has been charged with implementing the ACS Strategic Plan. His leadership will help drive key initiatives that benefit our members and assist the ACS in advancing the certification of ICT professionals in Australia,” Wong said.
