Telstra gets HTC Desire S and Wildfire S

Telco will launch the two HTC Android smartphones in Australia on May 25

Telstra will launch the HTC Desire S and Wildfire S, both running on Google Android OS, on May 25 at a media event in Sydney.

The Desire S is the follow up model for HTC’s Desire released with the telco last year.

It has a 3.7-inch touchscreen and uses the Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” OS.

The device has a 1GHz CPU and 1.1GB internal storage along with a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.

The Wildfire S is a successor to the HTC Wildfire also released last year. It has a 3.2-inch touchscreen, CPU speed of 600MHz, 512MB internal memory and a 5-megapixel camera.

Last month, rival telco, Optus, announced it had snapped up [[artnid:383389|exclusive rights to carry HTC’s Incredible S|HTC brings Incredible S Down Under with Optus. which will be available in May as well.
