Optus has added 570,000 new mobile customers since the start of its financial year, bringing numbers to over nine million. That is a seven per cent growth.
Its parent company, SingTel, now has an overall mobile customer base of over 400 million across 25 countries.
Optus added 103,300 new mobile customers in the quarter ending March. Postpaid customers increased by 151,000 while 47,000 prepaid customers left due to “higher than average customer churn rate on certain international calling plans.”
The company currently has 5.09 million customers on its 3G network including 1.28 million wireless broadband users. That is a 41 per cent jump from the previous year.
Optus and SingTel will announce its full year financial results on Thursday.
