Apple pips Google as the world's most valuable brand

BrandZ research has the Apple brand worth $153 billion

According to research group, BrandZ, Apple has now overtaken Google as the most valuable brand in the world.

The Most valuable global brands 2011 report, which bases findings on the Millward Brown Optimor, found Apple’s brand to be worth $153 billion – up 84 per cent on the previous year. It eclipsed Google, which dropped two per cent to a value of $111 billion.

IBM remained steady in third place at $101 billion and Facebook made its debut at 35th place with a brand value of $19.1 billion – up a massive 246 per cent on 2010.
