IT consulting outfit, Dataweave, has helped solar power installer, Clear Solar, to deploy and supply ongoing support for an enterprise resource planning solution.
For the implementation, Dataweave used the Oracle E-Business Suite, and incorporated modules for finance, purchasing, order management, inventory, quoting and field services. It also integrated it with an existing Oracle CRM OnDemand solution.
Prior to selecting the Oracle solution, Clear Solar, looked at solutions from six software vendors. But Dataweave was chosen due to its design, integration and remote management support services.
Clear Solar managing director, Paul Wilson, said every aspect of its business is touched by the project and it was critical to work with a partners that could provide a transition that appeared seamless to its customers.
“Dataweave helped us implement the project and continues to provide us with ongoing performance tuning, and 24x7 remote support for our databases and key business applications,” Wilson said.
“This frees internal resources, so that our IT team can focus on improving efficiency further, tailoring customised workflows, and helping employees get the most from the solution.”
Wilson said many of the systems it had in place for tracking finances were labour intensive, making it difficult to forecast and plan inventory requirements, and it delayed the production of management reports.
“We were dealing lots of small inefficiencies, which added up to serious growing pains for our business,” he said.
Dataweave managing director, Norman Weaver, added when a business is rapidly expanding, growing pains can really start to hit productivity and profits.
