Targus has added three new products to its range of mobile computing components designed for ease of installation.
The Targus Charge-Sync USB cable allows simultaneous recharging and data synchronisation of a Palm V PDA, eliminating the need to carry converters and power adapters while on the road. The cable connects through a standard USB port. Weighing 25 grams, the cable is priced at $125.
The Low Power CF (Compact Flash) Ethernet card allows the connection of a PDA or Pocket PC to any local area network over standard Ethernet RJ-45 cables. This card provides high-speed portable connectivity at up to 10Mbps and features low power consumption, the company claims. It is priced at $375.
Thirdly, Targus has released its CF Serial I/O card, a Type 1 Compact Flash card that adds a high-speed serial communication port to a Pocket PC or handheld equipped with a CF slot. Priced at $375, the card weighs 62 grams and consumes less power than any other product in its class, according to company officials. It allows attachment of modems, barcode scanners, GPS receivers, digital cameras or any other RS-232 serial device.
