NextDC finds another Sydney site

The company's next Sydney datacentre will be in Macquarie Park measuring between 4000sqm to 6000sqm in technical space

Datacentre builder, NextDC (ASX:NXT), has secured a new datacentre site situated in Macquarie Park, Northern Sydney.

The purchase of the new site is expected to be completed by April 28.

In March, Next DC successfully raised $33.6 million to fund Sydney property acquisition and to expand its existing sites.

The new purpose-built facility is expected to go live in the third quarter of 2012, providing between 4000 and 6000sqm technical space with high density of power.

NextDC recently received development approval from Brisbane City Council for installation of emergency standby generators in its BI Brisbane datacentre, which is expected to go live at the end of May.

It also began construction of its Melbourne facility, M1, which received formal development approval in March.
