Deloitte and Touche Consulting Group will this week release a suite of integrated services aimed at enhancing the functionality of customers' existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.
The new services include eXpress Delivery, ValuePrint, SkillPrint and Second Wave Services.
According to Deloitte's managing director, Greg McCann, the organisation is hoping to induce medium-sized business into adopting its SAP add-ons while maintaining the interest of its more traditional users, large corporates.
One of the services, eXpress Delivery, is based on Deloitte's FastTrack methodology and attempts to compress modules of functionality. Deloitte officials claim eXpress Delivery, which includes components such as financials, sales order processing, materials management and procurement and production, can take as little as three days to implement.
And it is this service that McCann is predicting will project the organisation into the medium-sized business sector.
Another of Deloitte's R/3 offerings is SkillPrint, a human resource tool that attempts to help iden-tify those enterprise transformation skills which organisations are lacking in, and offers training strategies to match personnel with job descriptions.
McCann says that 50 per cent of customers have difficulties using ERP systems after the implementation process is over and the systems integrators have left. Hence, Deloitte is positioning SkillPrint as a solution to the sometimes daunting organisational transformations that ERP solutions can initiate.
Other services include ValuePrint, a device that sets out both the investment consequences of installing Sap R/3 and procedures that attempt to give organisations an understanding of enterprise transformation.
McCann sees this as Deloitte's response to a shift in focus from an end audit to a system that is inherently concerned with the cost return on investments throughout the entire process.
Deloitte is anticipating that Second Wave Services, the final offering, will be a key element in the success of the organisation's integrated services suite. Second Wave Services is aimed at developing and distributing secondary benefits of R/3-enabled processes.
According to officials, the development of channel strategies to market the new services is slowly gaining pace, but they confirmed that Deloitte will attempt to arrange a consortium-type structure, including hardware and software organisations, and are in the process of forming alliances with several resellers.
