Modulo Systems has announced Font Reserve, software that organises fonts into a finder-like database and puts them in order without the need for manual interaction or management. Font Reserve also scans for damaged font resources, removes duplicate fonts, and recognises all current font types. Font Reserve is database-driven, sorting fonts by name, kind, foundry, version and classification. The software also includes auto-activation from applications. It ships with a free XTension module, which automatically activates fonts needed by a QuarkXPress document, including fonts in embedded files. Users specify the folder and Font Reserve copies all the fonts required by the document - both screen and printer fonts - to that folder. Modulo is also distributing Font Reserve Server, based on the same architecture and technology as Font Reserve single user. Font Reserve Server allows multiple users to share, access, activate and use fonts from a single source.
