Data#3 has renewed a managed services contract with healthcare and chemical company Akzo Nobel, covering 11 Asia-Pacific countries and around 1000 users.
This follows the renewal of another contract earlier this year, through which Data#3 manages services for Azco Australia. The combined value of the contracts is estimated at over $1 million per year.
Under the terms of the new contract, Data#3 will provide remote management services for the wide area network (WAN), virtual private network (VPN), firewall and all servers for Akzo in the Asia-Pacific region.
"The benefits of a managed IT infrastructure service for the business include standardisation and commonality of configuration across the region," said Zak Ali, Akzo Nobel's manager of marine protective coating and manager of information technology infrastructure Asia Pacific.
According to Ali, the contract was renewed because of Data#3's thorough knowledge of Akzo Nobel's IT infrastructure and its high level of service.
"Data#3 continues to demonstrate its professionalism and expertise in meeting our challenging requirements," he said.
Data#3 claims the contracts have the potential to grow substantially through additional technology-related services such as procurement of hardware, software, consulting, technical services and project management.
