Computer Associates is expected to deliver at Internet World more of the IT line of Workgroup and Enterprise Edition management products that it originally launched at CA World last year.
CA will announce MasterIT, a real-time Web server monitoring and reporting tool, according to Yogesh Gupta, senior vice president of product strategy at CA.
MasterIT features Web server performance and availability tracking; traffic analysis; and policy-based correlation for automated responses to problems.
One analyst said that MasterIT is addressing a clear need in the market.
"The tremendous amount of growth in the Web application server market is catalysing the need for something to manage these solutions," said Colin Mahony, an analyst at the Yankee Group, in Boston.
CA will also introduce enhanced versions of the products it acquired from Cheyenne, which now form part of CA's IT product line, Gupta said. These include: InoculateIT (formerly Inoculan), featuring integrated management of viruses; ArcserveIT (formerly Arcserve), offering enterprise-wide storage management on Unix, Windows NT, and OS/390, as well as Fibre Channel support; and ControlIT (formerly Remotely Possible), a remote management product.
"Each of these solutions has very useful capabilities, which differentiate them from their competitors," said Steve Foote, vice president of research strategies at the Hurwitz Group.
Finally, CA will introduce Ingres II, the latest version of its database solution that features several new database administration tools, Gupta said.
MasterIT is currently in beta testing and will be priced at $US695 for the Workgroup Edition and $1300 for the Enterprise Edition.
InoculateIT, ArcserveIT, and ControlIT are available immediately in Workgroup and Enterprise Editions. Pricing information was not yet available.
