Samsung has launched its new range TVs and associated products as part of its connected home experience strategy.

The electronics vendor showed off its new TV lineup consisting of 25 LEDs, six LCDs and 10 Plasmas. Twenty-four of the models offer full high-definition (HD) while 22 fall into the category of Smart TV.

All of the Smart TVs feature Samsung’s Smart Hub which allows for on-screen Flash-supported Web browser, social networking, Samsung’s HDTV-based application store and online video streaming.

Users can stream videos and images onto the TVs in real-time from any DLNA certified devices including the Samsung Galaxy Tab which was demonstrated at a launch event in Sydney this morning.

To complement the release of the new Samsung range, Telstra has released BigPond Movies on the vendor’s Internet enabled devices. It extends the telco’s IPTV service which includes seven streamed channels.

A major feature of BigPond Movies is the ability to adapt to connection speeds meaning movies will be streamed at varying qualities to ensure an uninterrupted viewing experience.

In addition to doing away with the framed bezel design and adding an extra inch of screen to all its TVs, the vendor has brought out a new standardised clarity motion measurement, Clear Motion Rate (CMR).

New LED feature Ultra Clear Panel technology to facilitate natural colour reproduction. Plasmas have Real Black Filter to reduce on-screen glare.

Samsung has also introduced a wireless router for optimised connectivity for its TVs, a Skype certified TV camera and a QWERTY remote control.

The vendor had great success in the TV category with revenue reaching $23.4 billion globally.

Pricing for the new TV range can be found on the Samsung website.
