ASX-listed reseller, Anittel, has purchased Dubbo-based managed IT services provider, IT West, for an undisclosed sum.
IT West has customers across Dubbo, Mudgee, Orange and other regional locations.
IT West managing director, Peter Vane, will take up a leading position in the execution of Anittel’s regional strategy.
In a statement on the ASX, Anittel said the acquisition strengthens its position as a leading telecommunications and IT provider in regional NSW.
“The integration of IT West shows we are well placed to continue to expand our customer base in regional areas in an affordable way and to maximum effect,” Anittel managing director, Peter Kazacos, said. “We look forward to continue to support with great products and services the needs of regional businesses.”
In March, Anittelunderwent a strategic review of its business, seeking advice from industry consultant, John Walters.
At the time, Kazacos said it had managed to address some cash related issues by trimming down a significant number of staff, but couldn’t disclose how many had been affected.
Anittel has about 190 employees on its books. When the SMB powerhouse came together in February 2010, it had more than 270 staff.
In the months ahead, Kazacos said the business would revise its strategy along with its services offerings and pricing in the market.
