Telco company, Macquarie Telecom (ASX: MAQ), has announced a two-year $1 million hosting deal with US-based Heiler Software.
It provides Enterprise Product Information Management (PIM) and Enterprise E-Procurement.
The new managed server hosting environment enables Heiler to provide a total outsourcing model for Australian organisations.
Macquarie Telecom was selected as part of a tender process and a central component of the agreement was its breadth of Australian and international certifications for hosting high availability mission critical government systems and applications, including ASIO T4 and ISO 27001.
As part of the deal, Macquarie Telecom will provide Heiler with a fully redundant managed hosting platform, servers and SQL cluster.
The software company recently won an eProcurement agreement to support the NSW Department of Education and Training, and considers the Macquarie Telecom agreement as one of its first major steps in Australia.
“With a datacentre located in Stuttgart, Germany we identified that in order to provide the best user experience to organisations in Australia and to eliminate international compliance concerns, we needed to provide our services from a locally hosted source,” Heiler CEO, Greg Wong, said.
“As a result of the agreement we are now pursuing a number of public sector and business contracts in the Australian market.”
