Value-add distributor, WhiteGold Solutions, has signed on with network management BlueCat Networks.
The partnership will help strengthen BlueCat Networks’ presence in A/NZ IPv6-ready suite of DDI solutions.
The partnership will enable WhiteGold to provide resellers servicing new and existing large enterprise accounts, as well as those servicing small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in the ANZ region with BlueCat Networks’ IPv6 and DNSSEC compliant range of DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (IPAM) platforms as they face a new challenge of IPv4 depletion and the onset of IPv6.
IPAM is becoming a crucial issue for organisations, as most current networks run on the IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4). With IPv4 addresses likely to be fully committed by Q2 of 2011 with the final address range allocated in the past week, organisations will have to adopt the new IPv6 for future address allocation – with many organizations running a combination of IPv4 and IPv6. BlueCat Networks’ Proteus IPAM v3.5 offers a complete end-to-end IPAM solution for both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
“Feedback from our resellers and their customers makes it clear that it is no longer possible to manage the fast-increasing number of devices on an IPv4 network with traditional spreadsheets, and as IPv6’s longer IP addresses become the norm, it will make this necessary task even more difficult,” WhiteGold sales director, Jonathan Odria, sales director, said.
BlueCat Networks vice-president Middle East and Asia, Dean Bell, said WhiteGold would help tap into the increasing demand in A/NZ.
“This partnership with WhiteGold creates a solid framework as well as increased visibility for BlueCat to quickly and effectively deliver value to the reseller community in A/NZ and grow our existing customer base as the market accelerates on the back of IPv6,” Bell said.
