Ingram Micro's "Acceleration" channel program is approaching a crescendo with interim benefits starting to roll out for resellers who have been building up points.
If the truth be known, it is probably lucky to be still on course after Steve Rust and some of the Ingram team took to the seas in the SS Minnow recently. As part of a "Sail of the Century" day, around 60 resellers and reps from the sponsoring vendors in the Acceleration program took to Sydney harbour on what looked like being a great day.
True to the TV ditty everyone knows, the weather started getting rough and our tiny ships were tossed. Fortunately, because we were on the world's prettiest harbour there wasn't much chance of really getting lost although Clark Island nearly had some visitors.
There was courage and fearlessness displayed by the all-star crew on the Ingram-sponsored boat as it competed against rivals from program vendor partners including, Intel, Lexmark, Watchguard, Microsoft, Toshiba and Philips.
Proud skipper for the day on the Ingram boat was none other than Ingram head honcho Steve Rust, who helmed impressive fifth and seventh place finishes (out of eight starters) in the two races.
Ingram's Acceleration program will eventually see one lucky reseller driving away in a $60,000-plus Audi S3 as the top prize in a give-away totalling near $80,000.
Cocktail parties for top resellers are taking place next week in Brisbane (December 3), Perth (December 5) and Adelaide (December 6).
