Quantum’s new country manager, Adrian Sharkey, is a channel veteran, and has plans to greatly up his new employer’s channels investment.
Sharkey was previously a channel manager with Hitachi Data Systems. His new plans include doubling the joint sales reward for Quantum channel program members, planning a partner conference for the middle of the year, expanding the scope of R & D investment locally, and developing a new channel program to be announced in the coming months.
“When you’re a 100 per cent channel led vendor you need to invest in support, channel programs and lead generation,” Sharkey said. “We want to develop our current channel partners substantially.”
Quantum maintains 45 channel partners, of which 12 are strategic. Sharkey said the plan was not to grow that number, but invest in building greater capabilities within those companies.
“We see the market as boyant and growing,” he said. “We’re looking at the processes we engage with partners with and making sure we get it right.”
