IronKey is ramping up its push into the enterprise space, seeing growth opportunities in the mobile data encryption market.
Five months after the portable security specialist signed a distributor agreement with Simms International, the vendor is wrapping up reseller seminars that focused on endpoint security solutions, with a particular focus on corporate mobile security and trusted access.
Visiting US executives told ARN that Australia is in the process of reviewing its data protection requirements in light of the growing awareness.
“In Australia there isn’t the strength of data protection requirements like in other places like the UK,” IronKey director of product marketing, Kevin Bocek, said.
But there’s a realisation that data needs to be protected and properly managed.
The recent example of an Australian Department of Defence staffer misplacing a computer memory stick containing sensitive information about the war in Afghanistan, along with the Vodafone data breach will add fuel to the fire, Bocek said.
“These examples will continue to raise awareness and will drive action,” he said.
IronKey director of distribution, Mark Stack, said there’s a growing opportunity for Australian resellers to cater to the enterprise space.
“The opportunities are not limited to a certain sector or vertical. We’re on a focused push into the enterprise market.”
