Integrated business solutions developer eOne has snapped up the Developer of the Year award from Exonet6 for its work in customising and integrating the vendor's accounting software products.
The win was a sweet one for eOne managing director Simon Butler, who established Exonet's operations in Australia. Butler created eOne to address the mid-range business solutions market.
"We set up eOne as a high-end partner that could also do development," he said. "With larger sites, nearly every customer needs some degree of customisation and integration."eOne also develops solutions for integration with Microsoft Great Plains and SalesLogix, designing and implementing application that work with CRM and ERP systems. The company recently developed a Sales Order Workflow and Service module for Harley Davidson's top Australian importer, which worked with Exonet 6 to deliver its VIN service, a tracking, sales and finance package for the car industry.
"We have built up quite a strong vertical application there," Butler said, adding that the company was also in the final stages of putting together a CRM package for the talent industry.
Unlike many in the industry, eOne is taking on staff. Like Butler, many have an in-depth knowledge of the vendors they work with. The team includes former Exonet6, Microsoft and SalesLogix developers and technical consultants, and the company has a high regard for the technical knowledge of its employees.
"For every two implementation people involved, we bring on a developer," Butler said.
