GlobalConnect achieves Avaya Platinum status

Since Essar Group bought a stake in GlobalConnect, it has discovered new growth opportunities

Unified communications and contact centre integrator, GlobalConnect Australia, has achieved Avaya Platinum Partner status.

GlobalConnect managing director, Pushkar Taneja, said the new status provides the market with another level of assurance and skill set on the Avaya solutions that it provides.

It also has more access to sales, marketing and technical expertise.

To gain Platinum status, GlobalConnect had to achieve certain revenue, sales and technical certifications.

Other Platinum Avaya partners include Alphawest, NSC Group, Verizon Business Australia, BT Australasia, IBM and 3D Networks. Last year, Essar Group purchased a 59 per cent stake in GlobalConnect. Since then, Taneja said it had been able to approach the market as a solutions integrator spanning across unified communications, data networking applications and professional services as well as IT and governance.

“We have a lot more to offer our customers than what we did about a year-and-a-half ago,” he said. “Under the UC and data environment, Avaya sits nicely and we’re looking to expanding the reach into the market reach.”

Taneja highlighted the health sector as an area that it was doing a lot of development in as well as financial services, insurance and manufacturing.

“With a broader set of solutions that we have to offer, we can go into a market where we didn’t really look into before such as video conferencing, which is opening up a number of new channels for us,” he said.
