Riverbed appoints senior director of channel sales

The IT performance optimisation vendor has promoted its reginal director to fill in the new role

Steve Dixon is Riverbed's new senior director of channel sales in Asia-Pacific.

Dixon was formerly the IT performance optimisation vendor’s regional director of Australia and New Zealand. That role has now been filled by regional sales manager, Ian Raper.

Riverbed specialises in hardware and software to accelerate performance of IT including applications and WAN bandwidth.

In addition to growing the reseller channel, Dixon’s new role involves promoting Riverbed offerings to enterprise and government organisations for their public, private and hybrid clouds.

Since joining Riverbed in 2005, Dixon has helped the launch of the vendor’s offices in Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane.

Prior to Riverbed, he worked at Cabletron Systems Australia and then Kinetica.

“Steve has played a major role in establishing and driving channel strategy and relationships in the region,” Riverbed vice-president of sales in Asia-Pacific, John Higgs, said in a statement.

“We’re looking forward to Steve strengthening working relationships with the channels across the Asia-Pacific region to ensure the Riverbed brand becomes even more ingrained in the IT landscape.”
