Sony Ericsson’s Xperia arc will be sold through Optus and Vodafone when it launches in Australia in April.

The smartphone was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year. It runs Google Android 2.3 platform, dubbed Gingerbread, and is marketed as a multimedia device.

Xperia arc features a 4.2-inch mutli-touchscreen with an 8.1 megapixel camera that can record HD videos in low light. W

ith the Mobile Bravia engine, the phone can display clear images and it can be connected to a TV through a HDMI input to stream videos on a larger screen.

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc is just 0.87cm thick and is available in Midnight Blue.

Pricing for plans will be revealed at launch.
